| What You Need for Your Appointment |

 To ensure a smooth and successful notarization, please review the following requirements before your appointment.

All notarial acts are performed in accordance with Florida law (Chapter 117, Florida Statutes).

| Valid Identification (Required) |

All signers must present a valid, government-issued photo ID at the time of the appointment.

Accepted forms include:

  • Driver’s License 
  • State ID 
  • U.S. Passport 
  • Military ID 

In accordance with Florida Statute §117.05:

  • ID must be valid and reliable 
  • Name on ID must match the document 
  • Expired or invalid ID may result in refusal of service 

| All Signers Must Be Present |

  • Every signer must be physically present at the time of notarization 
  • Remote or absent signers are not permitted for in-person notarizations 

Required by Florida Statute §117.05

| All Documents Must Be Complete |

  • Documents must be fully prepared before the appointment 
  • Do not sign in advance unless instructed 
  • The notary cannot proceed if: 
    • There are blank or incomplete sections 
    • Required pages are missing 

We do not prepare or draft documents

| Willing & Aware |

 The notary must determine that the signer:

  • Understands what they are signing 
  • Is signing voluntarily 
  • Is not under duress or coercion 

Required by Florida Statute §117.107

If these conditions are not met, the notarization will not proceed

| Correct Notarial Act |

  • You must know which notarial act is required (Acknowledgment, Jurat, etc.) 
  • We may explain the difference, but cannot select for you 

| Witnesses (If Required) |

  • Some documents require witnesses 
  • You must provide your own witnesses 
  • We do not provide witnesses

| Payment Ready |

  • Payment is due at the time of service 
  • Total will be confirmed in advance

| Location & Accessibility |

  • The signing location must be safe and accessible 
  • Clients are responsible for securing access to hospitals, facilities, or correctional locations

| What We Do NOT Provide |

  • Legal advice (§117.05 & §117.107) 
  • Document preparation or drafting 
  • Apostille services 
  • Loan signing services 
  • Witnesses

| Right to Refuse Service |

Under Florida Statute §117.107, a notary may refuse service if:

  • Proper identification is not provided 
  • The signer is unwilling, unaware, or under duress 
  • The document is incomplete or improper 
  • The situation is unsafe or inappropriate

| Healthcare Facilities |

| Hospital & Healthcare Facility Requirements |

For appointments in hospitals, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or similar settings:

Signer Must Be Alert & Aware

  • The signer must be fully alert, coherent, and aware 
  • They must be able to communicate and respond appropriately 

In accordance with Florida Statute §117.107:
The notary must refuse notarization if the signer:

  • Lacks mental capacity 
  • Appears confused or disoriented 
  • Is heavily medicated or unable to communicate 
  • Is not acting of their own free will

| Medical Staff Cannot Override This |

  • Approval from nurses, staff, or family members does not override Florida law 
  • The notary is legally required to make an independent determination 

| ID Requirements Still Apply |

  • Valid identification is still required under §117.05 
  • If ID is not available, the notarization cannot proceed

| Access & Timing |

  • You are responsible for ensuring: 
  • The signer is awake and ready 
  • Facility access is approved 
  • Delays may result in wait fees, rescheduling, or cancellation

| Important |

 If the signer is not alert and aware at the time of arrival:

  • The notarization will not proceed 
  • The appointment may be treated as a no-show or cancellation 
  • Travel and applicable fees may still apply 

| Failure to Meet Requirements |

If these requirements are not met:

  • The appointment may be cancelled 
  • Travel and/or no-show fees may still apply
